Self Care Sundays

There’s something almost scientific about the Self‑Care Sunday effect: when you dedicate a little time to yourself, Monday feels doable — even good. Here’s my go‑to Sunday routine to banish the Sunday Scaries and start the week shining.

1. Sink into an “everything” shower.

Start with a full reset: wash your hair, cleanse your body, and exfoliate. I use an exfoliant brush to gently remove old spray tan and any dead skin—think of it as peeling off last week’s stress.

👆🏼 Playlist rec! I have been on a Jazz kick lately - it’s so relaxing. This is the playlist I listen to when I want to *zen out.

*If you are needing a pump up/girl jam sesh - here’s my own personal playlist I put together 👇🏼 💃🏼

2. Skip or shave (depending on your week).

I usually shave my face, but if you’ve had a facial recently, you can skip it. Let professionals do the heavy lifting when they’ve already prepped your skin.

3. Habit‑stack a whitening treatment.

While you towel off, apply your teeth‑whitening routine so you’re not adding extra steps later. If you have sensitive teeth, pair Crest Sensitivity with Sensodyne Pronamel—gentle but effective.

4. Add a gloss treatment for shine.

I recently added a gloss treatment to my hair routine and I love how shiny and healthy it looks (I do this in the shower in-between shampoo and conditioner). It’s a small salon investment that pays off all week.

5. Self tan.

If I am feeling ambitious I will self tan at home with Loving Tan. If I head to the salon (Versa Tan) I grab a a Pro Dark Gradual spray tan in their spray booth. Because it develops over time, there’s no scary instant color—just a natural, buildable glow. Let it marinate for a few hours before rinsing. - sometimes I sleep in it over night for a darker base.

6. Finish with styling and nourishing oils.

Once the tan is settled, add soft curls and a few drops of hair oil on the ends to seal in moisture and boost shine. These finishing touches make you feel polished without much fuss.

The result: a refreshed face, hydrated, glossy hair, a subtle glow, and a brighter outlook for Monday. Self‑care Sunday isn’t indulgent—it’s preparation. Your beauty maintenance routine is officially complete.
